Why We Cook

In support of the Cancer Survivors Park Alliance (CSPA) and the Cancer Survivors Park (CSP).  CSPA is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to changing the way we live with cancer.  Our mission is to serve as a catalyst for collaborative activities that engage, educate, empower and enhance the lives of anyone touched by cancer and to ensure the sustainability of the CSP as the central venue for carrying out that mission.  CSP is the signature project of CSPA – a 6.8-acre park along the Swamp Rabbit Trail that will blend gathering spaces and natural walkways to provide a place of renewal and healing for anyone who visits. The park will include a pavilion, specialty gardens, and sculptural and educational elements along with numerous community programs.

CHOP! Cancer 2020 was our first virtual event! Stay tuned for the 2021 details by visiting the event website. This amateur cooking competition, benefiting the Cancer Survivors Park Alliance, features 18 local celebrities and Upstate community leaders battling away on the stage – set up like a kitchen – to help CHOP Cancer! Their culinary creations – featuring cancer-fighting ingredients – will be judged by professional chefs and well-known faces – and you get a say in who wins through online voting!
