“Leap of Faith” created by Doug Young

The bronze sculpture by local artist Doug Young was made possible through a donation from the family of Lindsey Bates Motley who passed away from cancer in 2016. “She took a leap of faith and grew her wings on the way down.”

“Hero” created by Lois Ann Malphrus

Hero portrays a wise and curious rabbit precariously perched on a narrow stone wall in the Children’s Garden section of the park. The intention of the artist was to depict both courage and faith in the face of adversity, much like a child’s cancer journey.

“The Welcome Statue” created by father son team, Charles Pate, Jr. and Charlie Pate, Sr.

GREENVILLE, S.C. – January 21st, 2021Cancer Survivors Park Alliance (CSPA) formally introduced its latest park element, The Welcome Statue, to the Upstate community with a private unveiling with Bill and Jan McCrary on behalf of the William V. McCrary Family.  The family’s generous gift represents a significant milestone for Cancer Survivors Park and made this statue and other parts of the park possible.

“Tom’s Hat” created by Doug Young

Park plans, a notepad and an every day Tilley hat – celebrating the life of Tom Keith, landscape architect and lead Cancer Survivors Park designer.

“Butterfly Journey” by Yuri Tsuzuki

This sculpture lives in the Butterfly Journey Entryway. It is symbolic of transformation and hope.

“Fear Not” by Charles Pate, Jr.

The hallmark of the Children’s Garden is the large bronze sculpture by Charles Pate, Jr. entitled “Fear Not.” Charles and his mother, Toni, have written and illustrated a children’s book about courage that is awaiting sponsorship.
