Laura Coleman Nickles

Laura Coleman (LC) was born and raised in Greenville, SC. At Greenville High, she served as Student Body President, an experience that helped lay the foundation for her passion for nonprofit work and community service. She went on to study and serve at Presbyterian College before returning home.

Laura Coleman joined the Cancer Survivors Park Alliance staff in 2018, drawn to the organization through her own experience as the “survivor” of several family members who have faced cancer.

In June 2025, LC’s father was diagnosed with aggressive renal cell carcinoma and passed away just months later. Walking through her Dad’s diagnosis and treatment gave LC an even deeper understanding of the cancer journey – the fear and uncertainty, the dedication of medical providers, the emotional weight of caregiving and the grief that remains.

“I have always had a desire to serve the Greenville community. My family’s experiences with cancer are a big part of what called me to CSPA, and my dad’s journey has given me a new and very personal understanding of why this work matters.”
